| | | | | Features and advantages - Rope brake - Example of functions | | | | | | | | Example of functions for BODE rope brake In connection with the safety switch or pre-circuit breaker on the overspeed governor and the C11 control unit, the following operating conditions of a lift system are monitored by the rope brake: Speed The rope brake closes in case of overspeed in both directions of travel. Power outage The rope brake closes in case of a power outage and opens automatically when the power is restored. Monitoring of functions The functions of the rope brake are checked once every 24 hours. This is performed automatically by the control unit. In the event of overspeed in the lift system, the safety switch (at Vn < 1.01 m/s) or the pre-circuit breaker (at Vn > 1.00 m/s) on the speed limiter is switched (disconnected). This sends a signal to the C11 control unit and the rope brake closes. This takes place in the event of overspeed in both directions. The rope brake closes with compressed air and is opened with spring force. In the event of a power outage, the rope brake closes. The rope brake can remain closed for some time due to the accumulator on the compressor. When the power is restored, the rope brake opens automatically. If there is a pressure loss in the pneumatic unit, the impending trip is ended and the lift is shut down at the current floor. The lift is ready for operation when the operating pressure has reached 5.5 bar. Within a period of 24 hours, a function test of the rope brake system is conducted. This test is scheduled by the control unit during the time when the lift system is not in use. If a fault occurs during this test, the lift system is shut down. | | |
